The gaming world exploded when it was revealed that Modern Warfare 2: Remastered was being developed and leaked on the Amazon Store.  The legendary, controversial game that captured the attention of all in the gaming community is coming back, and the rumored date is April 30th.

Modern Warfare 2: Remastered had the entire gaming community buzzing, until the news that came later, where the game would only be released with the Campaign mode on April 30th, meaning the Multiplayer and Special Ops modes would be absent upon its launch.

This caused a massive uproar on the internet, as the Multiplayer mode is what made the game one of the most-played games of all-time.  The mode that made the franchise what it is known for, with overpowered assault rifles, slick-shooting submachine guns, and iconic sniper rifle play against online opponents would not be there upon release.  Obviously gamers who have such fond memories in Multiplayer would be furious at this news.

However, after hours of calming down from this disappointment, I sat down and realized that this does not mean that a Multiplayer mode would not be coming to Modern Warfare 2: Remastered, just not at release.  It is likely that later on down the road, there will be a special update implementing the Multiplayer and Special Ops modes to the game, likely when Call of Duty: Black Ops IV releases.

The release of Modern Warfare 2: Remastered and Black Ops IV at the same time will likely bring the most excitement to Call of Duty fans in years.  Treyarch usually releases the games that get the most attention and are most loved out of the Call of Duty developers, and the release of a classic mode will surely bring more hype along with it.

Despite the lack of Multiplayer and Special Ops, the Campaign mode is a classic, highlighted by the death of some of the most likable characters in the mode, and especially one of the most shocking betrayals in gaming history.

But most controversially, the mission “No Russian” caught much negative media attention due to the promotion of a terrorist act in an airport.  The German version of Modern Warfare 2 removed this mission from the game, and it is not too crazy to believe that it could be removed from the standard United States version, due to acts of terror being a more delicate subject over eight years later. The Campaign mode will have to do until the legendary Multiplayer mode is released.
