“No matter how hard the past, you can always begin again.” – Buddha

It is not uncommon for people to feel as if their past defines them. Those with mental health problems, including Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and other trauma disorders, always feel as if their past dictates the life they will lead.

People with hard pasts especially feel as if there is no way forward, and that their future will forever be ruined.

Although, in times like this, it is important to remember that there is always a new start to everything.

You can always begin again, from the beginning.

Whether it is starting on a clean slate, learning from your experience or fixing your mistakes, something can always be done to improve your future.

The past is unchangeable. Whatever happens, happens.

However, it is crucial to be self-aware. By being self-aware, you will be able to progress as a person, and lead a better, newer life.

All people do things that they regret. The key is that these people do not let their regrets control them and eat them alive with guilt. Instead, they become wiser human beings and allow the lessons that they learned lead their new life.

Having the mindset of “I make mistakes, but I also learn” is a life changer. It will make you think differently.

You will begin to see the past as a learning and experience and opportunity to gain wisdom and knowledge. You can begin again and lead a new life after that.
