For the third time in seven years and tenth time in thirty, Hoover won the GUSD Scholastic Bowl on March 12 at Glendale High.

Juniors and second-year participants Max Meltzer and David Ramazyan along with sophomores Garo Kapouytian, Noemi Mesropian and Emily Terkazaryan came back from last place to victory with 69 points.   Crescenta Valley finished with 63, Glendale with 62 and Clark with 56 points.

Hoover went into first place after answering the very first question of the second round, ending with 17 points in the buzzer round.

This may be the youngest team in Scholastic Bowl history to win the competition.  All other teams had seniors.

Due to the current social distancing recommendation, the event, held at Glendale High’s auditorium, was absent of an audience but streamed live on various sites.
